The 2015 Hugo Award Ceremony was tonight, and the highlight of the night was the announcement of the 2015 Hugo Award for Best Novel.
The winner was The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu, translated by Ken Liu!
A couple special things about this Hugo Award; The Three-Body Problem is the first translated work to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel.

Accepting the award on behalf of the author was translator Ken Liu, who is himself a past Hugo Award winner.

Great news !
But I wonder whether this reduces the chance for the 2nd and 3rd books? If so, I prefer they give the award to the next two books, because I think they are much more qualified than the first one.
Sequels of books have won before, but it does seem rare. But I look forward to reading The Dark Forest, now that it’s out in English!
I’m so darned thrilled it won! I was pretty bummed that Marko Kloos pulled out of the running, but if he hadn’t, this wouldn’t have been possible.
I bought myself a copy of The Dark Forest the morning it was available. I still haven’t read it yet, but i wasn’t going to be caught without it 🙂
